Modern and efficient manufacturing techniques, a streamlined development and delivery process and strict quality assurance procedures offer contractors and clients the significant logistical advantages of fully fitted bathrooms or kitchens delivered complete to site, requiring only simple connections.
Design
At the heart of our business is the dedicated, specialist, in-house design and technical team who are experienced in successful liaison with architects, M&E consultants, cosntruction project managers and clients to achieve the best possible pod solution.
Utilising the latest 3D SolidWorks technology, our versatile design and manufacturing facilities enable us to produce bespoke designs and configurations quickly and economically to meet a wide range of building requirements.
Through a policy of technical innovation, continuous product improvement and R&D workshops, Offsite Solutions lead the market in diverse technical expertise; from steel frame to lightweight, durable, low maintenance composite GRP.
Our design engineers ensure that all fitted components comply with British Standards and with relevant Building Regulations. All interior fittings are sourced from leading manufacturers ensuring the best available lifecycles and performance to an excellent standard.
M&E connection points are designed for ease of connection on site; future maintenance requirements are fully considered and where applicable access points incorporated into the design.
Manufacture
Apart from pods specified as floorless or thin-floored, floors are typically made from welded steel box section of size and design specifically suited to the pod footprint and weight. This rigid base frame forms a stable platform for the pod, not only through the manufacturing process, but also during transport and installation.
Steel frame pod wall sections are made from 65 x 40 x 1mm cold rolled galvanised steel 'C' section with lipped channels. The wall frames are lined with 11mm OSB 3 and 12.5mm moisture resistant plasterboard. The box section base frame is lined with 18mm tongue and groove exterior grade WBP plywood. This base frame is bolted to the wall frames and ceiling panel in the build shop where the frame is lined. Self tapping screws are used to fix both layers of sheet material to the inside of the frame. When attached to the box-section base frame; the galvanised steel wall frames produce an optimum balance of durability and weight, offering efficiencies in transportation of ease of manoeuvrability.
GRP pods are moulded in high quality polyester resin with a UV stablished pre-pigmented gel coat. The pod exterior is fitted with horizontal composite battens and adjustable lightweight steel rails to facilitate dry lining fixing.
Almost all Offsite Solutions bathroom pods, wheter GRP or Steel frame, are fitted with a GRP ceiling panel. This greatly enhances both the appearance and durability of the unit being robust, water proof and easy-clean.
Production Process - once the pod frame is in a rigid state it is moved to the production lines where the various finishing processes are carried out under rigorous quality controlled conditions: taping, tanking, tiling, first fix, painting, second fix, cleaning and final testing. Specialist tradesmen are responsible for each different process ensuring every function is completed to an excellent standard.
Each pod is accompanied by its own specific set of quality control documents; pods are checked at every stage during the process; to ensure that any defects are picked up swiftly and resolved prior to the pod moving along the production line.
This production process is extremely efficient enabling high volume production and advanced quality control.
