Testing
All plumbing, electrical and ventilation services within the pod are completed in the factory and are routed to connection points on an exterior pod wall for quick and easy connection on site.
To ensure the integrity of the pod systems, all plumbing installations are thoroughly pressure tested and certified. Copper pipes are tested at 7 bar for 30 minutes, plastic push fit pipes are tested at 1, 7 and 3 bar for a total of 30 minutes. Drainage and waste pipe-work is tested using a bailey gauge at 80 mbar for 3 minutes. In addition the electrical system is tested and certification provided.
Installation
Completed pods are made secure and despatched from our facilities in Somerset, South West England, on specialist articulated vehicles. A delivery schedule is agreed in advance to suit site access and off-loading facilities. Pods can be off-loaded either by fork lift truck or by site crane. When crane off-loading has been specified, Offsite Solutions will provide a custom built, certified lifting frame.
Site operatives can then crane the pods onto scaffold landing platforms or cantilevered gantries which have been placed level with the floor structures where the pods are to be finally positioned. Alternatively, they can be craned on to hoist platforms which lift them to the appropriate level.
From the landing area, pods can be moved to their final installation positions or to a storage area for subsequent positioning.
Service hook-up is a simple, undemanding process using the pre-checked service connections on an exterior pod wall. When required, Offsite Solutions can provide specialist support crews to handle pods into position.
