Prefabricated bathroom pods allow for faster construction programmes and significantly reduced requirements for skilled labour on-site providing valuable time and cost efficiencies over traditional construction methods.
Steel frame bathroom pods are suitable for a number of applications where a high quality, traditional appearance is desirable such as residential, care homes and premium hotels. The nature of these pods makes them suitable for any project where there are a significant number of units with high repeatability.
Offsite Solutions steel frame pods are assembled using light gauge ‘C’ section wall frames lined with 11mm OSB 3 and 12.5mm moisture resistant Plasterboard. The floor substrate consists of a welded steel box section sub-frame lined with 18mm WBP plywood.
The high quality materials used for the interior of the pod mean that they can be completed in most traditional interior finishes. Walls can be painted in any colour listed in the BS4800 or RAL colour range charts or tiled to suit individual requirements. The floor can be tiled or alternative flooring such as vinyl can be applied. When required under-floor heating can be installed. For increased durability and reduced maintenance a GRP ceiling panel can be specified.
All services run within the structure of the unit including: waste pipes, pressure pipes and electrical services. General maintenance access points are reached through either the bath panel or the vanity unit’s removable shelf. Additional access panels can be made available if required.
Completed pods are made secure and transported to site on specialist vehicles. The relative light-weight nature of the finished product means that it is both easy to transport from our facility and simple to unload. Pods are craned into position using a custom built, certified, lifting frame supplied by Offsite Solutions. When required we can provide specialist support crews to handle pods into position and plumbing and electrical termination points are located to ensure precise on-site connection. We aim to simplify the entire process by providing a superior engineered solution from a quality controlled source in conjunction with excellent customer service.
Pod Composition
Wall sections are made from 65 x 40 x 1mm cold rolled galvanised steel ‘C’ section with lipped channels. The frames are lined with 11mm OSB 3 and 12.5mm moisture resistant Plasterboard. The floor substrate consists of a welded steel box section sub-frame lined with 18mm WBP plywood. Ceilings can be either moisture resistant Plasterboard or GRP.
Dimensions
There are a variety of existing footprints in our design library or bespoke designs can be developed to meet individual requirements. Pod units can be configured as bathrooms, en-suite shower rooms or WC's.
Colours & Finishes
The pod interior can be specified to suit individual requirements. Walls & ceiling can be painted in any colour listed in the BS4800 or RAL colour range charts. Walls can be finished with most tiles, ceramic or porcelain. The floor can be tiled or alternative waterproof flooring such as vinyl can be applied.
Typical Fittings
Back to wall pan, concealed cistern, chrome toilet roll holder, wall mounted wash hand basin, fitted chrome mono-bloc tap, chrome recessed thermostatic shower mixing valve with fixed shower head, low voltage down-lighters, mirror lamp and shaver socket, mirror over shelf and glass shelf. All interior fittings are sourced from leading manufacturers ensuring excellent pod performance.
